For analog outputs, the Eagle I/O reads a digital value out of a T1 register and performs a D to A (digital to analog conversion). Analog signal types and PLC registers are defined using the included simple setup software.
The Analog I/O expansion plugs into the programming port.
The TC111 Thermocouple input module can be used to base control on temperature. The TC111 allows the T1-16S mPLC to alarm, monitor, or control any and everything based on temperature.
· Set PLC outputs ON/OFF based on temperature values.
· Perform PID control based on temperature values (single loop control).
¾Sense temperature with thermocouple input card.
¾Use Transistor/PWM or analog output to control a heating element.
The TC111 thermocouple module clips onto the side of the T1-16S PLC. Each T1-16S can accommodate up to eight (8) I/O modules, so it is possible to have 8 thermocouple modules on each T1-16S. The thermocouple module can accept inputs from type K, E, J thermocouples or millivolt inputs. These modules are isolated via photo-coupler and DC-DC converter. Built-in functions include linearization, cold junction compensation, and burn-out detection.
Toshiba has added analog I/O expansion cards to the T1-40 m Programmable Controller. These cards fit into the same expansion slots used by the discrete and network expansion cards. Each T1-40 can hold two expansion cards without using any additional panel space (the expansion cards fit inside the T1-40). There is one analog channel per card, each channel is 12 bit resolution. Currently available cards include:

It is very easy to setup a simple loop controller using the T1-40s PID function block instruction. The analog input card is used as feed back input into the PID instruction and the analog output card is used to control the process. The set point can be easily adjusted using either the built-in potentiometers or an operator interface station (OIS). An added benefit is that the T1-40's 24 inputs and 16 outputs allow the sequence control to be tightly integrated with the loop control.
