
Model PD690
4 1/2 Digit Universal Process Meter
Model PD690 is a high performance, easy to use, industrial-grade
microprocessor digital process meter. It accepts all the standard process
signals: 4-20 mA, 1-5 V, 0-5 V and 0-10 V and displays these signals in
engineering units on a 4 1/2 digit display. The display includes an extra zero
which may be used to handle numbers up to 199,990.

Stand alone scaling allows the PD690 to be scaled without applying an input.
Simply select internal calibration (I-CAL) mode and set desired display for the
4mA and 20 mA value. To scale inputs such as 0 -5 V, 1-5V or 0-10V without
applying a signal, first complete an initial calibration.

Powers the loop
The 24 Volt transmitter power supply is standard on the PD690. This feature
saves time and money by simplifying wiring and eliminating the cost of an
external transmitter power supply.
NEMA 4X Front Panel
Wet, dirty and dusty environments don't bother the PD690's NEMA 4X front
panel so it can be installed in almost any panel in the plant
Linearization
- The linearization feature has two modes of operation:
- The 11 point user calibration displays non-linear signals
- The square root extraction displays the flow rate from a differential
transmitter.

Square Root Extraction
- Displays flow rates
- user selectable low flow cutoff

- accurate to +/- 0.1% FS +/- 1 count from 10-100% of flow
- The square root extraction feature displays flow rate by extracting
the square root of a signal from a differential pressure transmitter.
The user selectable low flow cut off feature gives a reading of zero
when the flow rate drops below a user-set point.
NEW 18-36 Vdc POWERED
The PD690 Universal Process Meter can now be powered from 18-86 Vdc. This new
option provides up to 500 Vdc of isolation. All the features and options
available on the AC powered meters are available on the DC powered meters.
Note: 18-86 VDC powered PD690's are not UL listed.

Every PD690 comes with 4 visual alarms standard! The PD690 universal process
meter can be equipped with 2 or 4 relay contacts and a isolated 4-20 mA
transmitter output. These options may be combined in any configuration to
satisfy a wide variety of applications. A fully loaded model PD690-3 includes 4
relays and a isolated 4-20 mA transmitter output.

Relays
- Rating
: 2 or 4 relays; 2 Amp SPDT (form C). The contacts are rated 2
Amp @ 30 VDC or 2 Amp @ 250 VAC resistive load; 1/14 HP @ 125/250 VAC for NC
contacts and 1/10 HP @ 125/250 VAC for NO contacts, inductive load.
- Reset
: User Select.
- 1. Automatically when the input passes the reset point.
- 2. Automatically + manually (via user supplied switch or front panel ACK
button).
- Fail-safe Operation
: The relay coils are energized in the non-alarm
condition. In the case of a power failure , the relays will go to the alarm
state. May be disabled with internal jumper.
- Auto Initialization
: When power is applied to the meter, the relays
will always reflect the state of the input to the meter.
- Dead band
: 0-100 %, User Selectable.
Isolated 4-20 mA Transmitter Output:

- Output Loop Resistance
: 1500 ohms max. using a 35V external power
