Approvals

The PD684 and the PD689 both have a FM Type 4X, IP65 Front. The difference between the two meters is only the PD689 has the hazardous location approvals. Contact Transtronics for Nema 4X enclosure information inform@xtronics.com  (785) 841-3089
Loop-Powered Rate/Totalizer Approvals

PD689 Approvals for Hazardous Locations:
FM Approved & CSA Certified as intrinsically safe with entity for use in Class I, Div 1, Groups ABCD; Class II, Div 1, Groups EFG; Class III, Div 1; Class I, Zone 0, Group IIC; T-code = T4. Nonincendive: Suitable for use in Class I, Div 2, Groups ABCD; Class II, Div 2, Groups FG; Class III, Div 2.
Entity Parameters: Ui: 30 V; Ii: 175 mA; Ci: 0; Li: 0; Pi: 1.0 W

The PD684 loop-powered rate/totalizer can display rates up to five digits and total up to eight digits (using the total overflow feature). The display can automatically or manually toggle between rate and total. Comes standard with a back-lit display, bar-graph, customizable engineering units, max/min display and open collector output. There is a similar PD689 for hazardous area applications with FM Approval and CSA Certification.

Square root and exponent functions allow for a wide range of applications using flumes and weirs
square root extraction allows the display of flow rates from a differential pressure transmitter signal. The square root function has a user selectable low-flow cut off.

A user entered conversion factor allows for scaling into the unit of your choice.

If the total flow is over 5 digits in length, the unit displays an overflow flag with the first 3 digits of the total, pressing a button reveals the last 5 digits.

The open collector output may be setup as a pulse or alarm output:

The pulse output  sends one pulse output for a user selectable number of counts. For example, You could output one pulse for every 500 gallons of flow. This output is compatible with PLCs or a counters. The open collector output can also be used as an alarm output with activation on high/low rate indication or total set-point indication.

Everything is programmable from front panel buttons with no confusing pots or jumpers to deal with. Scalable without resorting to a calibrating signal source!
