Self Powered

Current ranges to 250 A

These toroidal current sensors provide an isolated way to measure AC current. By simply threading the wire through the sensor, it senses the current induced field and provides a suitable output. The self powered feature allows floating the ground and eliminates extra wiring.

Applications:

· Power monitoring

· 3 phase heater element burnout detection

· Motor stall detection

· Regulation and control

Threshold indicator with LED, OC, relay, or TRIAC outputs see the BO series
0 to 2.5 Vdc

Vac/Iac ~~ Use with the PD695 for current control with a digital display.

The following graph shows transfer characteristics for our standard model in blue, the large opening model in purple and the results of a cheap sensor in yellow. Actual units will have the voltage limited to 6.8Vdc on over currents. This test suggests that we could provide a linear 0-10Vdc output with the large diameter opening model.
